[June, 2018]  After two very nice older drams I turn to a new release to recalibrate my taste buds with a modern style whisky.  And given the very high scores here at WB (on average above 91 points) this must be a stunner...

...and I am totally surprised that no one mentioned this extreme sulphurous spike so far and that obviously all other tasters liked it.  Not that I want to impose my taste upon others (everyone is free to appreciate what he/she likes) but it is really amazing to see a completely flawed and dirty dram to reach such an average high score here at WB....

Unfortunately, my tasting session has ended tonight because I cannot smell nor taste anything after that...
    • Nose
The colour is amber and the texture shows small tears with medium fast legs. The nose is very dirty (I know, a lot of people like dirty whiskies these days - but to be honest: Why should I go for flawed stuff?) with quite significant sulphurous aromas of burnt matches and fireworks. I acknowledge that many people like this but please accept on your side that to me it is simply disgusting...
    • Taste
The taste is all about sulphur - it dominates almost all other flavours and to be honest, I am not in the mood to search for other aromas behind this massive sulphurous wall. Water releases even more sulphurous aromas - so use it if you appreciate the flavours of hell only…
    • Finish
The whisky arrives hot and with the typical scurfy sulphurous mouthfeel that I really hate (because it blocks my taste buds for hours if not days). Sorry, this is ugly! Interestingly, despite the high sulphurs the finish is rather short and unremarkable. What is better in this case...

Very sulphury, but the palate is intense.
    • Nose
Very sulphury, rotten eggs, iodine and vanilla, can't get more notes since the sulphur is heavy.
    • Taste
New oak, paint, sweet barley, very salty and leathery. Shoe polish, fresh herbs.
The palate is very intense, there are some seaweeds and umami as well.
    • Finish
Long, burned barley, sulphur and leather.
