8 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.56 points

  1. Maltpuschel scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

    Large bottle opened

-> despite the only 40% vol. an intense whiskey that is easy to drink
    -> 2 bottles reordered
    • Nose
A typical Irishman from the first nose: first floral, lovely notes
then spices, dark chocolate, coffee / espresso are added
a slight sweetness resonates in the background (rather dark morning)
It is similar to Midleton Very Rare 2019 in the NAse
    • Taste
easy start; but leaves the taste intensity to more than 40% vol. suspect
Espresso, dark chocolate from the nose can be found here
Its taste is spicier than most Irish
    • Finish
proper barrel wort, very slight butteriness (but not unpleasant); dark finish with very slight sweetness; rather on the spicy side -> liquorice?
the finish itself - due to the low alcohol - is relatively short

A great Irishman, the longer it is open, the tastier it is ????

    4th round 46102/2014 - L4344IB005 - 17:19 - 9213054, 35 days after uncorking. Maintains its high level.
Grandiose, complex, profound, dark and heavy. Always new aspects. Despite a price of around € 150, it is worth every penny for my wife and me
    • Nose

impressive echoes of the 2 years of Madeira
    • Taste

    • Finish
Dark chocolate malt nutmeg oak spices (little) oak (little) fruits, creamy-oily and bitter-sweet
long and multi-layered, wonderfully persistent creamy mouthfeel with very pleasant, discreet spice

Leave plenty of time = approx. 30 minutes in a glass and then 30 minutes to enjoy a double dram in small portions. Then a highly interesting TOP Irishman shows everything that the heart desires of lovers of non-peat whiskeys. With every sip and nose changing, highly complex, simply a dream

  6. Izzino scored this whisky 97 points Expert Senior

One of the most Irish whiskey ever. Beautiful basket of dark fruits.
