    Worst Mac I've ever had and very blurred. No wonder that all Topbewerter are new accounts. A rogue who thinks something bad. ;)
    • Nose
      Maggi, sulfur, rotten egg, leather behind, dark chocolate and some old dresser
    • Taste
      Everything from the nose
    • Finish
      Bitter, dry, sulfur

  2. Malthead19 scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

    - a very good NAS bottling from Macallan
    - the much said and mostly negatively said
    I didn't notice the "sulfur note" so present
    - a good "mix" of old and young barrels
    - strong and voluminous and at the same time soft and
    harmonious, very balanced, the special (special)
    soft Macallan touch is quite noticeable
    - in terms of price, of course, with the prices called up here
    Catastrophe
    - originally for about 120 € to 140 € justified for the good quality
    • Nose
      Oak, sweet sherry, strong and voluminous, light sulfurous note
    • Taste
      Without W .: quite surprisingly softer than expected, you "could" (if you want) also enjoy it pure, never before had such a "mild" whisky of almost 60%, slight tingling on the tongue and lips, sweet sherry, toffee

      with W .: very soft, sweet start, slightly spicy, honey, sweet sherry, caramel
    • Finish
      long, warm, sweet finish;
      long spicy aftertaste

      Stewed red fruits, vanilla, leather
    • Taste
      90 90
      Christmas spice, sherry sweetness, vanilla, leather
    • Finish

      Sweetness remains with a light spice

    The expectation before drinking is to have more fruity flavors, but the actual fruity tastes prevail, and the woody flavors account for the upper points. Anyway, after all, is the original wine, 699 is still quite conscience for macallan, the second-hand price is no longer suitable for self-drinking.
    • Nose
      More dried fruits (grapes, plums, cherries), caramel, toasted wood.
    • Taste
      More spicy, a small amount of fruit, oak, quickly turned into caramel and ginger, accompanied by heavy bitterness and dryness, like a sudden outbreak of fire burning wood and nuts to burn away the remaining ash and heat.
    • Finish
      Long, dried plums with burning sensation and bitterness.

    Find the price completely covered - this whisky contains certainly "young ingredients" - but still - it is a Top Malt!
    [Color] amber
    • Nose
      a lot of sherry, raisins, caramel, some cocoa, wood, seasoning, oak;
    • Taste
      slightly diluted: velvety, creamy, nut nougat, caramel, raisins, sherry, cocoa, slightly bitter, sulfur (?) emerging spice, tobacco, clove, oak, complex;
    • Finish
      long, creamy, nutty (liquid hanuta), woody;

  7. Petitcham scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    the flavor of the strong burned sherry cask characteristic,Personally, it tastes less like 18 classy cut, deep spice and light nut

    NOT EDIBLE.

    The rich milk chocolate in the front taste is more balanced and comfortable, which is why its taste score is relatively high. The upright Eddington Sherry barrel, from the Highland Knight single barrel, to the Gran Ruth single barrel, to the McAllen Cut, a company that likes to say its own way to define the Sherry barrel, always makes the following Shirley barrel products such as.
    • Nose
      80 80
      The green smell of the whisky of the low age, sulfur! The feeling of painting a new house is quite obvious, but it will dissipate when the cup wakes up. Strong alcohol stimulation, quite modern style of sherry barrel, stewed apples, black pepper, a lot of lemon zest. In addition, there are rich dark chocolate, a little new leather, coconut paste, weeds and soil, and a trace of truffle powder. 80
    • Taste
      85 85
      The taste is more stimulating, but the balance is acceptable. The entrance is hot black pepper, sesame pepper, sweet milk chocolate, sweet stewed apples, a lot of ginger sugar, and some roasted nuts. The front part is full of fat, but still can't cover the strong spice irritation. The tail part has heavier black pepper, sesame pepper, bay leaf, and pure dark chocolate and white citrus peel bitterness. 85
    • Finish
      82 82
      Dark chocolate, peppermint, essential oils, burning sensation brought by strong taste stimulation, a little woody tannin. 82

    A lot of pressure due to the alcohol content and a lot of sherry aroma, but not a long maturity.
    • Nose
      First a lot of pressure and a good bite of alcohol. Very cute. Smells almost put on or scented. With time in the glass, it becomes milder and more fruity.
      I recognize raisins and dried fruit soaked in syrup, such as dates.
    • Taste
      As expected, a lot of pressure and strength in the start here. Sweet, dark fruity, Sherry-heavy. However, initially no oak tannins.
      The second sip is more spicy and a little less sweet. But now drier.
    • Finish
      Warming but short in taste. Mild and sweet

    • Nose
      Light sherry, very balanced, unripe pear, green apple, green notes. Dry sherry, dried fruits. Raw and young on the nose. WIth water, more sherry elements are coming. Milk chocolate
    • Taste
      Very sharp, drying, astringent. Light chocolate on the finish.

    Not a bad one but it needs a lot of water.

  18. Achany scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

    ouch, I like this one, hefty sherry on the nose, sweet, some vanilla, some dark fruits, matches some mouldy wine cellar, some matches again, dirty, not thatABV usual super well balanced and elegant stuff, this one has edges and fights back. ABV is nice, does not need water. finish is long, strong and full of spices. I really liked this one

    Does not taste young and no trace of youth in this whisky. Wood is dominant in taste, but not bitter. Somehow, some notes in the Mac remind me of wine vinegar, bothering me personally.

    A new contribution to the core range as an annual release. Probably cask strenght and uncolored but with some chill filtration. Nice clean sherry, fruity, especially oranges, a bit thin and spirity on the palate but over all, quite good balance. Probably a blend of very young to young Macallan in sherry seasoned casks. Obviously not at all as good as the old "Cask Strenght" Macallans but still quite tasty.
