I think I tasted a tiny and I mean tiny sample of this at the distillery and liked it. This was a generous sample courtesy of Peatbogger and rather liked this one.
    • Nose
Almonds, this is a strange one, it smells a bit like a veg gravy stock and a hint of ginger. A cocktail of spices that really clears the sinuses. Old Varnished wood, leather and coffee notes.
    • Taste
This is really something to chew on. When you swill it around the front of your mouth it feels like a 40% but soon as it hits the back of the tongue and throat it really hits home and the flavours just burst. Again almonds, dates, spice with a little sweetness and rich moist tobacco.
    • Finish
The finish is very long and the dryness in the mouth is almost overpowering but this isn't a bad thing for me as I like it extreme. It probably would put a lot of people off or some would simply add water.

Unusual, interesting, I quite like it.

Given the young age, this may have been a poor bourbon cask atempted to be salvaged by a sherry finish, at least it makes an interesting profile.

Creds to A.D.R. for a sober and telling tasting note on the packaging, so in contrast to all the marketing hype these days.
    • Nose
The tasting note on the bottle is simple (no use of meaningless superlatives) but almost spot on for this one.

Out in the sunshine it sparkles with strange tones of pale rose wine.

And it's sweet dried apricots, tons of them, with an underlying note of cloves.

Making up a rather unique and unusual nose.
    • Taste
I feel the apricots carry over in the arrival that is very sweet.

Definitely something nutty, not sure if it's almonds, maybe brazil. Some peppery spice.

And we're in the neighbourhood of  strawberries, I get it more like raspberries with a bitter twist.
    • Finish
Lingering past medium on fatty nuts and spice, still sweet.
