Notes from blind tasting. I didn't perceive it as a blend, I didn't have any annoying "artificial" notes that young grains in particular like to have.

My tip was: ex-BC with Sauternes finish, ~ 43%, 5 years, no idea which distillery (classic single malt, so no Irish. Could be a young distillery, I wouldn't even completely rule out a German distillery).

Very clear, fresh fruit structure - apple, pear, red gooseberry - paired with grassy-flowery notes, with a little vanilla and a touch of caramel
    • Taste
      79 79
Fruity and light, pear, plum and a bit grainy / malty
    • Finish
      75 75
Short and fruity. That's it ...

Strong lemons, sweet and sour, quite malty nose, malt come back on the palate , spirity at the finish. Very drinkable young citrusy whisky.

    • Nose
somehow vinous, dried herbs, herb candy, grasses, nuts, some wood, very lightly n a few dried fruits like raisins or something,
    • Taste
It starts with dried herbs, then it becomes a herb candy, then there is wild berry jam, nuts, coffee, some very dark chocolate, at the very end a bit of wood and a little pepper

It's top notch for the price of £15, you get an age statement, some decent flavours, and its a blended malt so all malted barley. But the taste combination doesn't fully come together for me. I would fully take a glass over the other lower end options (jameson, cheap blended scotch like Bells). But don't expect something that'll blow your socks off. Great for a session drinker
    • Nose
Sweet smell of honey , coconut and or nutmeg, very clear and fresh flowery smell.
    • Taste
A mix of light fruitiness, plumb and malty taste. There is a salty smokey flavour mixed in there in the end.
    • Finish
Slight smokeyness and cooked fruits, apple pie etc. Not too much there, it's a short finish.

For this price, it's the best. Better than many popular brands. Quite a simple but pleasant drink. Suitable for both clean drinks and cocktails, especially good with ice.

For that price a nice mox whisky. Or for absolutely beginners.

Pretty flat and arbitrary. At least no alcohol stinging. More suitable for mixing than pure.

Not a lot. With some vanilla, malt sweetness and caramel.
    • Taste

Here too: hardly any taste. Minimal vanilla, caramel and oak.
    • Finish
      65 65
      Quite quickly gone.

Yeah, we´ve to do this ;-)
Well, it´s a blended malt. Not a blend like the Maggie 8yo. But both going well down to intestine without major calamities.
Not to bad as an introduction to Scotch single malt - or the better blends.

Great for the price but do you really want a good whiskey? Buy queen margot 8 years
