  1. DocF scored this whisky 81 points Expert Senior

Nasenmäßig directly times dead pants. Charred sawdust, Brussels sprouts. Well ... you do not have to. Sweet in the mouth with good citrus, then malty. Full mouthfeel despite lax flavors. Long, malty finish. He does not necessarily seem young, but he does not cut me off the stool either. Good Foundation for a Living Bottle maybe.

Well matured. Strong body. Nice combination of nose and taste.
    • Nose
      86 86
First oily and maritime. Dusty old books. Only after the first sip the sweet notes from the bourbon barrel ripening with a little vanilla and caramel. He stays fresh with citrus.
    • Taste
      82 82
Strong start. Very pleasant alcohol. Oily mouthfeel. Fine fruity acidity. Some honey. With time in the mouth ever spicy and peppery ..
    • Finish
      84 84
Fine bitterness. Pleasantly dry. Long-lasting resonance.

  3. Monte Gehro scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
At first a nice fruity bourbon nose, pineapple, pear, barely noticeable alcohol. Then fresh, mint, and citrus. Only slight hints of spice.
    • Taste
Powerful, first sharpness of ginger and / or pepper, subtle tropical fruit, plus the fresh mint and citrus from the nose, a bit dusty grain.
    • Finish
Pleasant, medium-long, slightly tropical-fruity-sweet, only at the end something spicy and bitterness comes out.

  4. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

I like it, when the taste turns into a "big picture". 90 € for age / strength go OK, he does not need water, but tolerates a good, without losing, because you can stretch a bit.
    • Nose
slightly piercing, sweet - honey, banana chips, slightly fermented (mead, piles of fallen apples), with cereals, straw, sawdust, a bit of stable smell ... later wet tobacco (so no wet, but cigarette into the water) Water does not have to - opens something, but brings nothing new
    • Taste
in the mouth, the 50% hit well, not sprittig, but neat peppery (even diluted) ... Wood, burnt bread, pleasant bitterness, the sweet sweetness of the nose is missing, there is something dark, chocolate / cocoa is not, somehow filthy, grubby ... burnt, peppered wholemeal rye-barley chocolate sponge cake
    • Finish
long and warm to hot, the above-mentioned burnt-on cake sounds for a while, then pepper and cocoa / coffee

  5. wbarchive_104650 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Lemon, cabbage?!, Some foul or musty note. With a little bit of time the nose gets fresher. Mint with a bit of eucalyptus.
    • Taste
For a brief moment bitter, then it will be fruity sweet. The alcohol is only discreet. Again lemon, a little caramel. Add hay and minimal oak.
    • Finish
Medium-length finish. Now comes the boulder barrel. Light fruit notes like peach and mango. In addition, oak bitterness.
