Whisky Reviews for Ballantine's 12-year-old

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 79.33 points

  1. SpiritWulf scored this whisky 72 points Member Senior

Average blended scotch with a bit too much grain. The finish is the highlight, the mouth and nose have their weaknesses, but are generally easy to drink.
The bottle is beautifully designed, makes a difference.
For around 30 € you can't go wrong here.

Nose (20/30): At the beginning there is a clear alcoholic note, but most of it never goes away. Honey, herbal lemonade, yellow apples

Mouth (29/40): slightly sour start, nice roasted coffee note in the background, a little malty sweetness with honey character, slight alcohol sharpness on the tongue

Finish (23/30): lemony mouthfeel, long-lasting with dry white wine characteristics and oak

  2. lincolnimp scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

The nose smells a little like white wine with honey, the palate is creamy but there is some oak in there mixed in with a little dark honey, it then gets much sweeter with some candied fruit notes.
The finish is quite long with a citrus edge, decent stuff,
