Whisky Reviews for Glenturret Triple Wood Edition
2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 82.17 points
- it's a bourbon cask, then a sherry and then a European one for a sweet product, like a candy, a little fruity on cooked green fruits, a little glue and a lot of caramel in the mouth. The fairly strong spices and the burnt caramel that comes out. Good simple and effective monolithic dram.
- A sample brought back from a distillery visit.
It's far from bad, but even at the prices listed I would put my money elsewhere after this sample.
There is some of the sherry edition on the nose, but it's cleaner. That said, the bourbon casks are matching if not overpowering the sherry casks. Not a bad thing when compared to the pure sherry edition in my opinion.
Apple, grapefruit. Quite sweet.
Anton Berg dark chocolate with marzipan filling.
Probably the better of the core NAS range.
Sweet, dark fruits, and some soft peppery notes.
Dry, bitter coffee, a little spice.
