Initially very restrained on the nose, which is probably also due to the low alcohol content of only 40%. I mainly have light fruits and citrus fruits like limes, oranges, apples, some grapefruit and gooseberries. A gentle spiciness covers the fruit. I imagine hints of hay and a very subtle maritime note. Overall soft and supple, but also powerless, not very complex and boring. I hope the whisky is more convincing in the mouth.
The whisky lacks strength and intensity in the mouth. There is a tingling sensation on the tongue, but where is the rest? For me, the pepper on the tongue has nothing to do with strength and volume ... the whisky is limp and weak in expression. The fruits have no chance against the peppery note, a little cinnamon and salt are added and a very subtle honey sweetness rounds off the whole thing. Then the tannins become more and more dominant with coffee and a slight bitterness that simply has no companion in the form of strong sweetness or fruitiness. Disappointing.
The finish is short, only a very slight bitterness stays longer on the palate. A little pepper, liquorice, coffee, a touch of salt and a sweetness that you really have to look for can be made out for me.
Well what can I say? If I had bought such a large bottle, I would have been very annoyed, regardless of the price. If you already do the nerve poison alcohol to your body, then it should be worth it. And that's definitely not the case here.
I give 80/100 points.
