  2. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Beautiful thing, comes primarily old-fashioned, robust, grainy, farm over, the subtle sherry gives a little depth, warmth, sweetness, but does not make it too round, no Kleisterherrywhisky.

  3. nallacam scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Simple whisky without the desire for repetition.
    • Nose
      85 85
Typical nose of a young Speysiders. Grain, malt, light sherry, yellow stone fruit, a bit metallic through the youth.
The fruit notes are clear over time, but also comes with some detergent ...
    • Taste
      84 84
Fresh and Britzlig at the beginning with a clear sweetness. Then there is a lack of complexity.
So it remains with a simple uncomplicated malt.
    • Finish
      82 82
      Slightly bitter, medium long, easy

  4. Eun1 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    • Nose

Honey, herbs, freshly cut grass, apricot, in the background a terpentine note (not intrusive)
    • Taste
      85 85
medium sweet, herbs - especially sage and mint, orange
    • Finish
      84 84
      medium-long, oak-spicy

  5. Allandale scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

    Sherry influences.
    • Nose
Fruity and vibrant with notes of green tea leaves, citrus vanilla and canned pears.
    • Taste
Sweet barley notes, honey and a hint of pepper is followed by sherry notes, eucalyptus, lemon meringue pie and dry malty notes.
    • Finish
Medium long, warming. Soft warm sweet aftertaste.

  6. Xaver did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

A great malt. Glad I could try that again.
    • Nose
Shining gold with a reddish stroke

First of all, I have freshly sawn, damp wood. Slight solvent and floral notes. Then go more in the grain direction. Vanilla, apricot jelly and roasted almonds. The typical sherry aromas are there, but stay gracefully back. Pickled cherries, berries and marzipan. I like the nose very much. There is still something sweet, hellftuchtiges in the background.
With some time in the glass, something like sour gooseberry comes along and a flag of smoke is developing.
    • Taste
Pfeffriger onset. Etz I have somehow warm apple pie. Yeast dough, some cinnamon, crumble and sugar. Mirabelle plums, slightly unripe plums, pleasant citrus notes and more cereals. A mineral component mixes with now. Damp sand. The fine smoke note now also appears in the taste.
    • Finish
Medium to long. Only spicy oak with pleasant bitterness. Then come the citrus notes. At the end, the sweetness prevails and combines with marzipan.
