  1. spigray scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

young but very good, very unsexy though.

    • Nose
slightly smoky, sooty, fresh cement and putty. engine oil and butter. coins in a tin box. dried fruit, nuts, chestnut. very old style imho. with water the sherry influence becomes stronger. a little austere but very good. the un - bunnaest bunna I have tasted so far.
    • Taste
neat: very strong but less austere than on the nose, but I definitely need water: creamy mouthfeel, dry sherry influence, I don´t think it was one of those pour-away-sherry casks that are specially made for the whisky industry. the smokiness and sootiness remains, also the butter. truffles. butterscotch. danish pastry. different nuts. this bottle really has to tell a story though it´s completely unsexy.
    • Finish
rather long, still sooty and rather nutty.

Young and heavily spicy sherried Bunna. Interesting one. 87/88.
    • Nose
Sweet. oily. Sherry, raisin, dried fruits, chestnut puree, antique skin and touch of tobacco smoke.
    • Taste
Powerful, creamy. Dry sherry, spicy oak, ginger, chili and mustard, citrus peels and milk caramel. Orange marmalade.
    • Finish
      Long, spicy with citruses.

Nose: Banana oatmeal, chocolate pudding, licorice, cinnamon gum, fresh ginger, and a puff of tobacco smoke.

Palate: Banana puree, ginger syrup, sour raspberry, peanut butter, and chocolate syrup.

Finish: Ginger and banana of course, plus dry oats, raisins, dark chocolate, and cranberry sauce.

Score: B+ (87 if you must);** Bunnah + sherry + magic. For some reason I don’t care at all for ex-bourbon Bunnah. Don’t @ me. Anyway, this is pretty sweet (it dries out a bit at the finish) so I’d assume PX or something similar. Very good and hides its youth well, but not an all-timer.

Sherry sweet and spicy, big and bold. Creamy and red fruit laden with baking spices. Responds well to water

  5. pianoman scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Fruity. Sweet yellow apples, some nectarine and vanilla. Fresh earth, garden herbs. Mandarin cake. Sawdust.
    • Taste
Bright honey, ripe raspberries, lemon cake. Marzipan, milk chocolate. Walnuts, cocoa powder.

  6. Toffie76 scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
almond / marzipan. Polish, wood, sap, coconut, dried fruits
    • Taste
complex, on a carpet of dried fruits. The addition of water increases the malty notes. Walnuts, hazelnuts. Very baker. Grapes.
    • Finish
evolution on a sweet / salty balance very pleasant. Beautiful length.
