    Certainly a whisky that tastes different. And 'different' is nothing for everyone ...
    Taste descriptions I save myself at this point. I think enough experts have commented on this malt; The notes are sometimes as contradictory as they could be. What do I mean by that? To all newbies, put on a sample and judge for yourself. Or buy at this joke but still a bottle. Maybe it's even the price that was the fate of whisky, because no one dares to miss such a malt many points. 'What do the aficionados think if I give 85 points to this whisky?' I do not care - from me there are 88 points! Would I include in my ratings the PLV with it would probably ü90 .. This malt represents Deanston as an original bottling flagship must. And yes; it may be that he does not taste you; Tastes are different; but not to try it because of the low ratings (the experts here) would be wrong! For me, the best whisky you can buy for 32 €! And one of the sweetest in the taste anyway ... Cheers!

    A very neat 12-year-old Highland Malt;
    [Color] full gold;

      Sweetness, citrus fruits, oranges, flowery (summer meadow), vanilla;
    • Taste
      77 77
      sweet on arrival, then fruity (clearly orange); strong; Seasoning (ginger) spreads mouth-filling; oily bodies;
    • Finish
      75 75
      mid-length finish, spice and orange fade away;

    Aroma: fresh, vanilla malt, overripe pear, wild flowers, blooming acacia, mowed grass, hay, honey, oatmeal, a little chemical notes: soap, perfumery; sweet dough. Small inclusions of spices: cloves, coriander.

    Taste: bittersweet, spice attack - cloves, coriander, black pepper, herbal bitter like "Riga balm" mixed with honey, vanilla pastry.

    Finish: medium length, again these herbal medicinal motifs mixed with honey, sweet yeast dough, pleasant, warming.

    Rating: 84

    The result: very peculiar and with its zest of whisky, not devoid of individuality. The aroma is a little inconsistent with the taste and finish, but it is very good, and even a hint of soap is not annoying at all. There is a bit of grassy bitterness in the taste and finish, but here it’s already an amateur; someone cannot take a grip on Riga Balsam, I don’t feel like that ...
    In general, a very worthy 12, somehow even offhand, and I don’t remember that from the conditionally "continental" Scotland (Spey, Highland, Lowland) base 10-12 years old, aged a full term in Bourbon, more interesting than this Dyston ..., except Paltney 12

    Exciting, mineral sweet nose, quite tart, bitter finish, tea, spices. Interesting and extraordinary.

    Standard whisky with excellent PLV. Interesting, if not very complex nose. Good taste, very balanced. Nice mouthfeel and neat, but unspectacular finish.
    • Nose
      85 85
      Spicy, strong, citrus notes ... grated lemon zest, oranges, malt, honey, menthol, cereals
    • Taste
      86 86
      Sweet, oily, orange marmalade, weak pepper ... slight prickling on the tip of the tongue, strong peppermint, some bitter oak, noticeable vanilla, oatmeal cookies with honey
    • Finish
      85 85
      medium length, oak, oats and honey

    For a (only) twelve-year ex-bourbon cask malt okay, nice flavors, but overall a bit flat, especially on the finish
    • Nose
      Orange blossom !, sweet bright honey, toffee, vanilla, light lemon notes, malt, butter biscuits, nuts, coconut, wildflower flowers, fresh grass cuttings
    • Taste
      Nice oily, sweet, fanta, toffee, vanilla, ginger, white pepper, roasted hazelnuts, hanuta, minimal coconut, orange blossom honey, burnt toast with peanut butter, dark chocolate with water: much sweeter and rounder
    • Finish
      short, chocolate, medium dark (60%), then the chocolate fades, and oily slightly bitter Brazil nut emerges, at the very end still the slight ginger sharpness
