Bottler: Signatory Vintage
Region: Highlands, Scotland
Limited to 86 bottles.
Special feature: decommissioned in 1976 and finally demolished in 1977. Very few bottlings have appeared on the market. If there is a chance to buy, then for about 1,000 € to 1,400 € in auctions, at dealers scarce 1,500 €.
Nose: A light sherry sweet, very fruity onset. I like it right away. Raspberries and melon, some milk chocolate and other fruits alternate with licorice and salmiak. But there are also spices, some pepper, cinnamon, vanilla pods. I could spend hours smelling glass.
Palate: More powerful than the nose, slight pungency, menthol, malt and the fruits (berries, melon, a little orchard). Eucalyptus also weighs a bit.
Finish: long and very pleasant. A nice long, but not too strong oak note.
Conclusion: 89/100 points (tasted 2014, about 1,500 €)
