Whisky Reviews for Bowmore 18-year-old

- For five years, this single malt is to be matured in the special Manzanilla Casks, after 13 years in the ex-Bourbon cask. For me, when bottling in cask strength is still a few drops of water, so just under 50 vol%. The water brings out the smoke and the fruit more. The floral gentle touch of the normal 18s I miss something. The bottom line too expensive!
Some smoke and fruitiness, dark fruit. Caramel sweetness and a very light herbal seasoning.
In the taste now more smoke, sweet and fruity. Citrus notes.
The taste in the mouth stays rather long and the mouth gets slightly dry.
- Great nose ... less smoke than expected.
Wine .. alcohol .. smoke .. raisins Whole fruit compote :-) buttery .. fresh ... some wood ... light sweetness
Smoke ... fruit with a decent sweet ... dry with the alcohol later then some saliva ..
fruity ... mellow finish for the percentages ... now comes again some bitterness
