Whisky Reviews for Oban Single Malt

- It's nay bad - nice raisin-rich nose, but the palate is surprisingly harsh/bitter.
- I tried this one side by side with the late 1980 or perhaps early 1990's 'decanter' style 12 y.o. miniature thinking it was a somewhat modern contemporary 14 y.o. I didn't notice the age statement was missing until after my little session. The two Oban's were very similiar with ginger and vanilla on the nose. The only difference I could find was that the 12 was a little sweeter on the nose, more cereal on the taste and had a longer finish. I should have brought a 2019 bottling for comparison because I believe both of these belonged to the generation of bottles from the early 1990's.
