    (Tasted blind)
APPEARANCE: Deep golden towards tea colour.
NOSE: Furniture polish, fruity. With time more fruit; mango, salty toffee, hints of smoke.More tropical fruits and yellow apples. Later; hints of mineral and petrol (88-89p)
TASTE: Fruity, slight sweetness in the arrival. Lots of citrus notes on the mid palate. (88p)
FINISH: Fruity tannic bite, but not bad. Takes water well, same bite but becomes "longer". (86p)
OVERALL: Total score 87 (88) points.

N- Full with scents from the malt floor. Caramelize grilled tropical fruit, pomelo, sherry soaked raisin, chocolate with a spoonful of marmalade. Ashy with layer of oil, tobacco, fresh mint and sweet pine, sourish diluted marmite notes with bonito flakes. Old leather. (92/23)

P- Harmonized of coastal and fruity sweetness, orange with puffs of nutty almond emerged, minted fragrant eagerly rises to the nose follow by chewy spiciness and hint of burn gum. Creamy, oily and ashy. Not with much uniqueness, but are solid, full and so well integrated as always, also means that the more you sipping on this, the more you will get hook by it. (93/23)

F- Medium-long, embrace the dry earthiness, smokes pith-ed orange, some liquorice and feeling suffice. (90/22)

    B/B- 90/22

    Cereal- 3, Fruity- 3, Floral- 1, Peaty- 1, Feinty- 2, Sulphury- 0, Woody- 2, Winery- 2, Spicy- 2

Weighted Rate- 91pt (+1 for the special bottling date)

Note: I did this tasting head-to-head with a batch from 2015 (old label)Nose:

Mild peat, very much springbanky. Hint of vanilla and toffee.

Taste: Sweet, mild peat, little earthy. quite some vanilla and toffee. Body:

    Medium full

    Finish:

Long length. Medium peaty, about the max I can handle. It gives nice smoky undertones on the vanilla and toffee.

    Price:

It is rising, but still very good price-quality balance

    Presentation:

I like the new label. But they keep the contents on a very high standard.

It's got substance, body and caracter.

    Well ballancedand and rounded 10YO.
    • Nose
      Nice Springbank nose.

      Earthy, farmy, oily, bold.

Light hints of smoke and citrus.
    • Taste
      Oily arrival.

      Again very bold and earthy.

      A little salty.

It's got a lot of herbal and spicy tastes, just the tastes without being hot in any way.

Underlying smoke (peat) and some fruit.
    • Finish
Drying, a little bitter with more noticable sherry notes at the very end.

Blown away by the level of this. Have had a mid 2018 batch and a 2019 batch and both weren't up to this level (Although both were quite good). Just exceptional stuff.

tropical grease to begin with. There's also this earthy/leathery note which I consistently find in Longrow. Quite subtle here and very pleasing. Then Paraffin, a farmyard grassy note followed by lemons and tangerines (Think Clynelish plus some funk and oil), with this pineapple note in the distance. Very precise..
With Water: Wow! Lemons and wax to the fore! Incredibly precise now, with tropical notes and wet wool following. Less grease oil now, more tarry and nutty (thinking almond oil here). Amazing nose. May not be as complex as some others I've tried however I'm a sucker for every note present in this bottling

Paraffin, hay, mildly coastal with tangerines. Oily and creamy. Not as greasy as the nose would suggest but more tarry and coastal with consistent fruits. A bit closed without water
With water: Much fruitier (Citric), More coastal with pebbles and seashells, saltier, more direct compared to without water just not as oily.

medium-long, Coastal, tarry, dry and crisp, with lemons and tangerines
with water is about the same, just more lemons and tar. Fantastic
