Bought this one in the LIDL in Wick, Scotland. This is a suprisingly good blended malt. Sweet, clear port influence, fruity. Medium finish. A very enjoyable whisky which, at a price of € 15 - € 20 a bottle, really  is good value for money.

A surprise. And a positive one. This is a really decent whiskey with nice complexity and a great, memorable finish. I would bet so much that Glenfarclas is part of this blended malt.
    • Nose
It starts with clear Portweinnoten. Then comes a short soy sauce. Later also orange. In the course of more and more light fruits (especially pear), a little caramel and a buttery note. Tobacco.
    • Taste
First sweet and soft, then comes the alcohol later, the back even a bit tingling. You can find vanilla, malt and later also the pear and other bright fruits.
    • Finish
The finish is surprisingly long and shows liquorice in addition to a strong nutty note, which I absolutely connect with Glenfarclas whiskeys.

I would have liked to have tried it without knowing that it was an 18 euro bottle from the "grocery discounter". You cannot evaluate completely impartially (subjectively).
The fears that this will now be the "bottom shelf" are completely unfounded and I like it better than well-known brands such as "Red Label" and Ballantine's.
Yes, a 30 euro whiskey is over 50% more expensive, but whether you should definitely save the "few euros" and buy it despite the "drinkability"?
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, because "is OK" still doesn't deserve a drinking recommendation in my opinion.
Life and health are too short for bad luxury foods.
Is and will remain a curiosity for me.
    • Nose
Three-quarters of dried fruit (with slight residual juiciness) and caramel-like sweetness. A slight "alcoholic note", but not too much. All in all not very complex, but with the knowledge of what it is, surprisingly ... "not gag-inducing"!
    • Taste
My spoiled "I only drink expensive whiskey" tongue reports slightly alcohol, but again, not bad. Somewhat fruity towards plum and orange. Slight bitterness and light spiciness too.
    • Finish
Rather, it only remains slightly woody.

I am very pleasantly surprised by this whiskey.
For an offer price of 14,99 € per bottle.
Here, the Master Blender has really done a good job.

Young, immature, unbalanced, sweet, heavy extraction with fiery spirit. If i were to buy something from Lidl I'd go for the Glen Orchy 5yo.
Still, i paid 8 euro so no major expectations nor complaints. I bit of Ardbeg Ten will fix it alright.

Blended malt designed for Lidl, from bottlery Clydesdale, whose portfolio includes Ben Bracken or Glenalba.
Barrels, oloroso sherry and port tawny were used.
The current prize in German Lidl is € 18, even for € 14 in events.
Aroma: The smell is sweetish, chocolate, dark fruity, with the sweetish rubber of the Mercury kit, moreover it has almost a peat tinge. (84 b)
Taste: Swallow, the influence of the port is, I suppose, enough to know. A little stuffed, with chocolate, cinnamon, and a sweet gummy flavor. Sherry I do not feel, but a lot of portrait with a bourbon sponge yes. (84 b)
    Points: 84
Summary: Due to the price of great performance when it's in action, it's a great tip for a good purchase.
