    a blast
it's peat, barrel and sherry in explosive tension
his beautiful character still comes to full development
    that gives him his perfection

yes! I'm in heaven and I want more
    • Nose
      dirty erotic
      the smoke is dominant
picks up the full dark fruit
      combines with salt
      to a wicked mixture

      not flattering and tender
      demanding fulfilling possessive
      a great nose
he wants everything and he tells you directly
comes later becomes more and more fruity
in the background are fresh and sensual notes
      Lemon & green herbs
      you can hardly define it

      Comment on the nose
      very direct
seductive from the first second on
You do not have a chance
the notes do not take the detour over your brain
You feel it directly and immediately
      it is difficult to describe
      but to feel more beautiful

      dirty with sensual background
    • Taste
In the mouth he gets ready
You do not have to feel 62.6%, but you could also taste like alcohol
      but he is madness
and that's how the madness feels:
like hot asphalt on your tongue on your palate
Pain and pleasure in the mouth
Your tongue is tingling and full of spice
You want to be kissed immediately to cool down

only at the second sip he lets you taste the notes

      sweet barley
      bright fruits
dark spicy chocolate powder on the palate
      its intense spiciness feels aphrodisiac
      Nutmeg, carnation
      an old oak door
and he stays in your mouth
      Comment on the mouth
you have to have experienced it once
There is no more to be said
    • Finish
a bit too pushy the barrel
Chocolate powder plays with spice and sweetness on your palate
      fruity baked apple juice
      sweet tobacco
      salty maritime fruit
      Your mouth is getting wet
      You have to swallow
      Comment on the departure
      very long and wet

http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=302 Color: gold-yellow Nose: Violent in the alcohol, spicy, saltier and more tainted with orange and lime and actually completely different from the Milroy's. Cardboard, paper, coal, mineral traces, stones, lead, metal, rusty iron ... a very pure and straight nose. Taste: Wow, this malt sticks from the first second on the tongue! Waxy, sticky, spicy, fruity with lots of orange, but also caramel, honey and fat malty cereal notes. Sweet peat brew, lots of smoke and slightly bitter herbs. Finish: Long - smoky, malty and still with a lot of wax in the finish. The sweetness plays with the fine herbal aromas and the fruity parts. Peat, smoke, cocoa and metallic notes go underground Note: Voluminous mouthfeel with a lot of smoke-laden malt 91 points N: 90P / G: 92P / F: 92P

[March, 2001]  I had this dram during an Islay charity tasting at Rheinhotel Dreesen.

    In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored this 92,5.  Unfortunately no detailed notes were taken.

But I noted the results of the charity auction:
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/11079/bowmore-1976-ud = 610 DM (305 Euros)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/16877/bruichladdich-15-year-old = 270 DM (135 Euros)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/11192/caol-ila-1966-gm = 540 DM (270 Euros)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/8341/bowmore-1964-black = 2900 DM (1450 Euros, no one placed a bid at the mininum price of 2900 DM during the first auction round - in a second round with a reduced starting bid it was hammered at this price)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/6201/killyloch-1972-sv = 3500 DM (1750 Euros, no one placed a bid at the mininum price of 2900 DM during the first auction round - in a second round with a reduced starting bid it was hammered at this price)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/7342/ardbeg-1967-sv = 560 DM (280 Euros)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/20157/macallan-195859 = 560 DM (280 Euros)
    - a Macallan distilled 17.10.1988, bottled 22.12.2000 port finish for 400 days in a port quarter cask by Werner Hertwig, Berlin, bottle no. 3 of 30 = 140 DM (70 Euros)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/23694/glen-grant-1965-sv = 670 DM (335 Euros)
    - https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/8203/laphroaig-1966-sv = 710 DM (355 Euros)

The final result of this auction (10.650 Deutschmark or 5.325 Euros) was donated to charity projects on Islay.

  4. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Wow. Neat Torfbums, complex, interesting, noble flavors, you have to really devote yourself, you can not just scavenge so. Great whisky for special moments (long moments ;-)).
    • Nose
very pleasant, slightly sweet, biscuits, salt, dry smoke ... Time brings fruit: green apple, banana, light citrus, but very subtle, peek out of the smoke veil, the biscuits are burned ... now grass, carrot herb, very varied, many distinct notes, but unobtrusive despite the strength ... with a little water, the smoke is stronger and salt and lemon are in the foreground
    • Taste
humming (fortunately are already a few drops of water off) ... strong, bitter, tar road bites into the tongue, for more I have to look for first ... there is difficult to get through, very little sip, long in the mouth, then revealing jellybeans , sweet cereal, grapefruit bitterness and bitter chocolate, cough syrup and herbal bitters
    • Finish
long and bitter, cough drops, camomile, baking cocoa sticks dry on the palate, pepper on the tongue

A very good barrel. It left its mark without dominating. This is only possible as a single barrel. 1 in 1,000. A top whisky. Highest rating!
    Thank you!
    • Nose
yellow fruits, but I do not know which
      Peaches maybe
The alcohol is barely noticeable, only if you go up close
      North Sea in sunshine
      Herbs, possibly woodruff
      very many closely interwoven notes
    • Taste
      strong start, but not sharp
the sharpness comes with a moment of delay on the tongue
      It is not alcohol, however
      White pepper
I always have a color in my head with whiskys, here it's yellow
At the same time it is very cute
      Above all is the smoke
The weather on the North Sea is getting worse
      a storm is coming
The whisky lures me into the warm interior with its sweetness
      A promise
      Again I find herbs
      And something slightly bitter
      But it is not chocolate
      Rosemary, young tree bark, grass
      Lemongrass, chicory, Asian
    • Finish
      The finish is long
      smoky and sweet
Again there is a bitterness that I do not associate with oak or chocolate
      Almonds drizzled with lemon juice
      sweet Sour

Smell: rich yellow fruits, a large amount of heavy substances, rust, metal, sulfur and salty taste, so that the picture of salted egg yolk appears in the head, after transfer, mysterious and elegant incense, sandalwood, light cooling oil.

Drink: Chocolate cake, yellow jam, spread, spread, charcoal smoke, sandalwood.

Feeling: Compared with the 1960s, this bottle has more yellow fruits, rich, rich, still a lot of heavy metals, and the woody fragrance at the end is very amazing.
