Colour: Gold/Copper (or dark gold)
Nose: neat: very sweet, some dark chocolate, malt, a light touch of anis and a faint lemony scent. with water: not much changes, perhaps the honeyness is brought more forward.
Taste: neat: sweet as on the nose, but much more spicy than the nose leads on. A slight grassy taste with some bitter orange. Despite the relatively high alcohol, easy to drink neat. with water: more chocolate, more malt, definitively improves with water, but don't go overboard as it drowns easily.
Finish: neat: not extremely short, but shorter than expected, dry, with the sweet/honey note hanging on the most on my palate. with water: more floral notes, but overall very similar.
Comments: I really liked this whisky. To be honest, I expected it to be good, as with any reputable 18 year old, but I did not expect to like it as much. On the downside (for my finances), it's now on the short list to buy another bottle!
MY SCORE: Highly Recommended
