    A very idiosyncratic Malt! Such a blatant Balsamiconote paired with charred meat and other unexpected impressions I have never had.
    An experience, but not for all days ...
    • Nose
      Sourish - and how! That's like balsamic! "Gravy" - gravy, wine note and a portion of acidity - such as from a green Veltliner! Brown bread, bread dough, fermented sweetness, decent earthy and murderous, somewhere in the background seared meat, slightly nutty?
    • Taste
      Earthy and murderous, tobacco, (wet) leaves, old dusty wood, sour cherries, again bread dough / brown bread; with water much more fruit nuances, extremely dry and astringent, slightly sour, very meaty, again black grilled meat, balsamico; the alcohol is extremely well integrated, even without water not a bit sharp or pungent!
    • Finish
      Tart, fleshy and yet with certain fruit nuances, mouth-filling, medium to long and powerful in this strange combination;

    I think that's great. Great malt, which is very complex and extraordinary.
    • Nose
      Pepper, coffee, burnt toast, which is already in the direction of roasted aromas. As well as dark Arkazienhonig
    • Taste
      Dark cherries, the coffee note is increasing and a sweetie is spreading.
    • Finish
      Again, the coffee, now comes the seared meat through easily.

    "This felt like a beautiful solid oak and veneered mahogany wardrobe, warm, rich, opulent and pretty much unmovable. Opening the wardrobe we found a pair of polished leather brogues and a new Barbour jacket. To taste it was big, dark and dangerous; Mulligatawny soup followed by oxtail and red wine stew with honey roasted parsnips. With water, aromas of pepper-crusted charred roast beef and pumpkin pie were followed by the intense dark sweetness of treacle tart accompanied by a glass of very old PX Sherry. After 11 years in a 1st fill white wine hogshead we transferred this whisky directly into a virgin oak hogshead for the remainder of its maturation."
