    • Nose
Pear, apple, mint, menthol, earth, cereals, now also strawberries, blackberries, now really sweet strawberry jam, honey,
he is getting sweeter, now even caramel
After some time also damp wood and lemon

yes even more fruity with water - vanilla ice cream, with baked apple with a little cinnamon, strawberry syrup - almost artificial
Now I have something like roasted almonds
    • Taste
very small sip - apple, honey, lime, wood, neat pepper and this time also chili

With water: honey, cereals, some strawberry, apple, lime, lemon, grapefruit, some coffee, nut, some wood, pepper and chili

It is nice that it is finally a malt that loses nothing by water. An interesting whisky that can keep you busy longer.

So from the first impression when pouring I wonder if that's the broker again (https://www.whiskybase.com/whiskies/whisky/108560/speyside-distillery-1995-whb). Creamy, fruity, apricot and blackberry, then menthol and damp forest soil. The almost 62% tickle surprisingly hardly in the nose. I can not find any herbs, though. I have apples now too. Even with heat the alcohol stays behind. Otherwise creamier, cereals and significantly more acid. Green apple now clearly. I also have the caramel note in my nose.
All in all, I find it more restrained with water, but it's true that it has a fresher / fruity nose.

Amazingly, he goes really well! Sure, the alcohol is there, but since it has almost no sharpness, it looks much softer overall. Creamy, oily and very sweet, honey full. Fruit does not get through there, at least in the first sip and I only find oak in homeopathic doses.
In the second sip I can then clearly find oak notes, yet discreet. A little coffee with a lot of sugar and a few herbs, maybe. Accordingly, the departure is now a bit longer.
So with water it is much fruity in the mouth, much more acid, a little less sweet, but the oak is now much weaker again. Aaaber, one would hardly believe it, it is sharper than without water, and indeed considerably. Not bad, but now there's pepper, but I would not attribute it to alcohol now. Departure remains short.

Again quite short, but warms the chest nice, no wonder. In terms of taste, the accents are simply missing, in order to prolong the whole thing. Find the departure, however, a little longer than the broker.

    Official tasting notes:

Nose: Warming spice, oranges, cinnamon and apple skins. Golden Syrup and sponge cake.

Palate: Soft ashy notes along with peanut butter, red grapes, caramel and faint hints of paprika.

Finish: Walnuts, caramel and hints of dry wood spice. A big dram.
