Bruichladdich, for me, is one of those distilleries that doesn't make bad whisky. I don't honestly remember the failed releases. Or just beautiful or exciting. This whisky is just the latest. Ideal for both tasting and easy drinking. Rich and meaningful.

Very good, compact, dessert wine, sherry, sweet, a bunch of fruits, condensed milk, vanilla, custard, delicate smokiness and smoked meat, raspberries, glazed cornflakes. Gradually the sherry side of the whisky changes to rich bourbon, then vice versa. Great game. Appears cloves, green tomato, iris and milk chocolate, marinade with a bunch of spices, paint notes. After a sip, citrus and tropical notes appear. Not alcoholic.
    • Taste
      91 91
Condensed milk, citrus, banana, chocolate, salty notes. Deliciously.
    • Finish
      90 90
It continues to taste, although less bright, pepper, oak, chocolate mustard, salty, knit (after persimmon).

The aroma is calm, intense, sweet. Minerality, creamy - creamy note, sea breeze, blackberries, steamed raisins.
We stood and breathed ... Industrial notes, monpacier, green apple in spices, tobacco motives, a little dusty burlap.

The taste is intense, sweetly astringent. Fruit - honey story, milk chocolate, minerality, barrel.

The finish is long, warming, sweetly astringent. Vanilla, citrus zest, wet wood, milk chocolate, tobacco, light smoke.

Conclusion - a solid, low-aged specimen from Bruichladdich with a good balance, a variety of shades and half-tones, quite complex and tasty. If everything is in order with the taste and aroma, then the price list leaves much to be desired.

  10. Calmar scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

A good wine mole, very juicy, rich, some sorting with bitterness and tartness in taste / finish, but overall it's very nice.
    • Nose
Open, dry, first nose - smoke and red wine; noble wood, old furniture, leather goods, light notes of shoe cream and wax, a little smoke, ash, dusty books, lemon zest, mineral motifs.
    • Taste
Saturated, airy, tart oak, dried medicinal herbs, bitter cortex, tablet bitterness, peppery wave.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, wine-wood, raisins, grapes, bitter young bark, uncoated tablets, grapefruit crust, mountain ash.
