Whisky Reviews for Aberfeldy 12-year-old
12 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 78.59 points
- Forest honey, vanilla, sweet with delicate wood and mild bitterness, soft, round, light sherry notes, raisins, syrupy viscous, great quality for this price
- Drinking but slightly unilateral, rather mellow whisky. Bottle purchased from Lisbon Airport and tasted at home in 2015-2016.
Honey-melon (very mature), almond, rubber, not very fresh scent.
Over-fruity fruit, slightly flowers, bitter almond oil. I'm also a bit oily mouthpiece.
Medium, alcoholic and fairly sharp aftertaste.
Round and full aromas of heather, honey and sweet pineapple with subtle notes including toffee, cereal and vanilla.
A thick, almost syrup-like texture reminiscent of the thickness of a liqueur
The long, dry finish is characterized by its full honey flavor with a spicy flavor and a bitter notes of oranges.
- Colour : Gold
Smell : Slightly smoky
Taste : malty sweetness with citrus
- The nose is the best part of this whisky. Because of that the balance is not perfect. Fairly good aperitive.
Malty, floral and fresh. Also sweet. A hint of butterscotch and raisins. Vanilla.
Oily. A little anise and fairly sharp and bitter because of the presence of some pepper and orange peel. Also the sweetness from vanilla.
Macaroons. Thde bitterness lasts the longest. Rather short and not that impressive.
- An average, adequate whisky.
Malty, vanilla sweetness, buttery. Soft fruit and light spice. Caramel.
Soft, sweet vanilla, light spice. Fresh fruit, orange peel bitterness. Buttery again. A little dry.
Sweet after an initial prickle. Vanilla and fruit. Quite short.
