    • Nose
Fresh, young, with lemon, herbs. Shy malt, cautious vanilla. A little roundness, but it is difficult to deploy.
The addition of water frees the malt in the most beautiful way. The smoke is thick (tire), we have chocolate, peach ... Young and vigorous.
    • Taste
Very intense on spices and lemon. Sweet end of mouth.
More affordable with water, spices twirl, sherry finally expresses itself.
    • Finish
      Tasty, sticky and sweet.
      Even more spicy with water.

      Enthusiasm 4/5
(3/5 for the nose without water)

      Whisky n ° 1952

What a 9yo! I'm awed and completely won over.

Thanks to member GIORGOS for the sample!
    • Nose
Like an Islay malt, but without the sea. Some rock salt, a definite oaky note of worn planks, ink, and a fair amount of hoarse, turfy peat smoke. Rather dry and one-dimensional, but it has its charm. No fruits of any kind anywhere. With water it has more cereal notes, as if nosing a bag of flakes.
    • Taste
Very peaty, surprisingly even, and absolutely huge. No blade this but a beast. The mouthfeel is almost like one of those ultra powerful Jamaican rums in that it has the same burning, prickly feel. On the other hand it is just a young peater, on the other it is a perfect example of what this style can be at its very best. Water tames it a bit, but it remains fierce. I didn't know Ledaig could produce this kind of a heavy hitter, and I've no idea how this was made, but good it is, of that there is no doubt. It's nicely minimalistic compared to the sherried Signatory CSC releases.
    • Finish
Fresh and peaty, with the ghost of anis marmalade hovering around tarry peat and Sisu Kipinä candy. With water it lasts longer, giving a burning sensation of salmiak powder and tar.

    Horny, brute part. Excellent!
    • Nose
      Colour:
      Bright, shiny gold

      Nose:
Slightly phenolic smoke. Then comes leather immediately in the nose. The smoke is already moving in the direction of hot asphalt. Salty, moldy seawater. Dry sand and roasted malt. I think the part is rather fruity. Chilled banana and mango. With some time in the glass, a sweet honey melon and vanilla peels out. The smell is more familiar to me. As with asphalting. You stand with your asphalt shoes on the hot material. Smell your hot sole from the shoe and the warm leather. Sweat comes to it.
    • Taste
For nearly 60% of the colleague starts surprisingly mild and fruity sweet. Ahhh ... then comes hot leather and again the asphalt vapor. Do I turn it on ...? Nope! I like it so powerful ...
Gets spicier. Pepper and salted ham with honey marinade. The musty salt water also sets in the taste. Just like dark Hefeweißbier. I find my grilled coconut in the taste. Continue to peach and a chic berry flavor. A dry citrus note joins to the taste.
    • Finish
Long and smoky. Toasted, sweet malt. Filter coffee and liquorice. Somehow goes in the direction of salted butter.

identic cask to these doggy ones (all bottled by Càrn Mòr for Potstill Austria):

Very comparable to the 2004/2005 SV Ledaigs, but more to the smoother ones. NEEDS water. And time in glass (but to the lesser extend, or some bottle opening time).
