I got this for around £50, which is not bad for a 20YO.
But is it worth the price?
There's a touch of Laphroaig and a lot of HP on the nose.
Some of it carry over to the pallate, but it takes a dive midway. Not sure if it is the grain or one of the other malts kicking in, but it's pretty dominant from there on and out.
The second dram is not as bad, or surpricing, as the first.
So, will I have problems finishing the bottle? No.
Will I buy another one? No.

The nose is a gentle mix of honey, sweet yellow fruit candy and a little peat. Focus on the fruit and it's a little apricot and a little papaya. It's been sitting 3 weeks just below the neck, and I think the peat has softened a lot from the neck pour.

Good, sweet, almost oily texture on arrival. Nice moderate build up of spice. It starts off very much like a decent HP, but then it veers off to what I find a bit weird astringent peat and oak with a metallic note.
    • Finish
      77 77
Dry oak and the metallic peat note.
Medium lenght, ever more drying as it fades.

This was a sample courtesy of peatbogger.
I enjoyed this, if I had a bottle I would be happy with it. What is thrown in the pot works well for me.

Sweet honey and cereal like corn flakes.
There is something cooking on the stove here, like stewed fruit.
Lightly coated boiled sweet, dried fruit also like mango.
I can't pick up any smokey notes at all, maybe heather from the HP.
    • Taste

A nice blast of tangy fruit on first arrival, then comes the grain, but it is nice grain with a lot of spice.
Next is the smokiness but it is only slight and it's more HP than Laphroaig.
Overall a good combination with lightly toasted bread with honey.
    • Finish
      82 82
It's weaknesses is it's finish, it's not bad, short to medium. The spice turns to burn but again it isn't unpleasant. There is some fruit chalkiness on the death.
