Great experiment by the WhiskyNerds. The ex-sherry cask really does lift the ex-bourbon cask to new heights. A great blend of the characters of the two previous releases.
    • Nose
Supremely fruity. Mango, pink grapefruit and lemon peel, softened by a touch of vanilla and honey. But the sherry influence is evident too, with cocoa powder and an array of fruits (strawberries and blackcurrants, for example). It truly is a wonderful blend of aromas of the two earlier releases.
    • Taste
Crazy fruity again. Lots of grapefruit and nectarines, but the lemon also makes a comeback. While there's less bourbon matured Inchmurrin in here, it does seem to have quite a big influence. Might be the extremely fruity distillate though. There is however some milk chocolate, licorice, raspberries and cherry syrup, as well as a mild spiciness.
    • Finish
Fruit juice with a hint of chocolate... Long...

Great Dram, 14 years old and just Wahoo! A pure fruity moment as I love them. I do not know what happened at Loch Lomond in 2003 but it has something magical about it. I can not fault this whisky, even are priced (approx 100 €) is more than reasonable.
    • Nose
This nose gives off a beautiful alcoholic and aromatic power. We are on notes of a very Sherry side with red fruits, coffee and the other more "Irish" with exotic fruits (mango, pomegranate ...). The whole remains very fresh overall with this little menthol / vegetal side that is good. Behind some vanilla and spicy notes sublimate the whole.
    • Taste
Alcohol perfectly integrated, really amazing considering the degree alcoholic. A very oily mouth and a beautiful amplitude. We are clearly on the fruits of all edges, even if the exoticism takes over. The finish is more spicy and gives off a slight bitterness.
    • Finish
Very nice length on the fruits first then the woody, the spices and always this slight bitterness. We also find vanilla, coffee with milk and some saline notes.

    Enthusiasm: Nose 4/5 Mouth and finish: 5/5 Whisky n ° 1645
    • Nose
Deep, exotic, woody, vanilla! Jam of red fruits (currant), lime, juice and zest.
    • Taste
Exotic fruits spicy, juicy, sweet. I stop talking there, I'm savoring!
    • Finish
In the exact continuity of the mouth, what a pleasure!

Inchmurrin is definitely one of my weak spots in the whisky industry. I was very satisfied when an opportunity came along to buy this bottle for a reasonable price together with my friends. The first time we’ve tasted this one it was not very well fit to the line up we had. But that was telling more about the other stunning and old whiskies we had that day then about this one. So now it’s time to analyze this without distraction.
    • Nose
This is an intense nose! I need some water to ease the alcohol down a bit. The fruity Inchmurrin character shows right away. With water the nose gets more accessible and offers quite some fruit such as apples, black berries, cherries, kiwi. Aside from that I get a decent amount of ginger, licorice, dried leafs and Rooibos tea. The nose reminds me more and more of being in the forest during the autumn season. This must be the result of top class casks.
    • Taste
On the palate a very full bodied sweetness arrives. I have the feeling that bourbon and sherry influences are battling for who’s the most dominant. A lot of lighter bourbon influences with vanilla and tropical fruits are there. I think the Inchmurrin character shines through here. At the same time thick sugared syrup with berries and cherries is there as well. Again the alcohol is also quite prominent.
    • Finish
In the long finish black berries, cherries and old sherry soaked wood are prominent. I especially love the very pleasant layer of wood. It ends up in the same spices like in the nose.

This one can take water like a champ. But build it up slowly since every level gives sensations that are worth taking in. It’s a beautiful complex and multidimensional Inchmurrin. The only pitty thing for me is the regular high presence of alcohol. This slightly spoils the fun a bit for me.

    A very good, sherried Inchmurrin.
    Highly recommended.
    • Nose

Initially strong on the sherry, but with the classic fruity undertone. Loads of chocolate, dried red fruit, sherry and some wet leather.
    • Taste
      88 88
Very nice and thick mouthfeel, oily and creamy. Loads of sherry, but like if it was sherry poured over a fruitbasket.
With some water the classic 'dirty' notes shows up a little more.
    • Finish
      90 90
Long length. There we have the classic 'dirty' Inchmurrin notes! I really appreciate it. Loads of caramel, honey, figs and some fudge. With some farmy undertone!

Very tasty malt. Again very sparkling and lively, beautifully fruity and sweet. I found the wood notes in barrel 17 / 169-1 better integrated. Nevertheless, a clear winner. Highly recommended.
