- Explosive unit. Lots of flavours in nose and taste. A great combination of spices, wood, red fruits and a thick smoky taste. Not for the faint hearted.
- I got a pair of these from Cadenhead's and this is the last of the
first bottle. It's pretty rare to see Caol Ila in a sherry cask and one
of this quality is rare indeed. I wish I had bought more. Yum Yum.
Like a christmas cake doused in Cointreau, dusted with peat and set on fire. Simply wonderful
Plenty of peat, like chewing a small chunk, then the marmalade coats it
with sweet orange and lemon before it bursts into flame once again.
The maritime character emerges here, with dried sea salt and shell-fish and it goes on and on.
It starts with a lot of citrus notes, smoke, ashes and matches. Strong notes of peat, burning branches, asphalt and old oak.
Very intensive, dominated by sweetness, spiciness, pepper and peat, chili, asphalt and dryness. Some hints of oil and varnish. Additionally some notes of citrus notes.
Very long, dominated by pepper, Tabasco, hot spices and pet smoke.
