- Rotten wood. Totally undrinkable!
- Very interesting on the nose with the smoky touch but a bit too fragrant on the palate for my taste
Intense, oak wood, salty, clear notes of smoke, tobacco, hints of leather and vanilla, something like peanut butter- really good
Punchy, oily, creamy, more leather notes, subtle sweetness, oaky, fragrant, rose water, flowery not to say a touch of soap, but still in a good way
Long and warm, more oak wood, zesty
- Amazingly fresh for a 40 YO, perfect peat and oak integration.
Raw walnuts in rose water, weak peat is behind, very seductive, fermented beans and sorghum, sea wind, very complex
Initially walnut water then ginger, mint and sour barley, then chocolates, dates and leather, very fresh, little tannins. Dynamic
Long, ginger, milk chocolates, violets, meat soup
- Official notes from Douglas Laing:
A fresh distinctly malted nose opens with vanilla, spices, tobacco and toffee. The tongue tingling palate is gingery and sugary, and moves to an interesting finish with molasses, smoke, spices and late oak.
