    An unusual, headstrong, complicated but very neat malt!
    • Nose
      Salt (sea, sea air), herbs, fruity note, trace smoke;
    • Taste
      gentle, smoky, extremely salty and full-bodied in the taste; fine vanilla!
    • Finish
      medium-long, dry finish, salt flavors echo;

    Due to the comparatively long maturation today, the malt has already built up a decent level of complexity. It convinces above all with its soft and balanced mouthfeel. Due to the maritime notes and the association of sea salt, it cannot hide its origin from the coastal town of the same name. A good mixture!

    • Nose
      I am immediately struck by a syrupy sweetness with caramel and sweet floral notes of spicy honey. Then come sweet citrus fruits such as tangerines and other flowery-floral notes. Behind it I find some malt, salty maritime notes and maybe even a hint of smoke. After the first taste, the citrus fruits fade away and the malt and sweetness come more to the fore. The honey can also be felt again and the sea air and sea salt become more intense.
    • Taste
      The sweetness also dominates in the mouth at first and reminds me of honeydew melons. Behind it comes a slight bitterness, as well as cappuccino. Again I find flowery-floral notes that contribute positively to the pleasant and balanced mouthfeel. The salt is now also clearly noticeable, the smoke at best imaginable.
    • Finish
      The sweetness gradually recedes a little and the slight bitterness and cappuccino linger along with the sea salt to the end.

    - a decent single malt with an idiosyncratic
    character
    - belongs to Classic Malts of Scotland
    - for about 50 € a bit too high
    • Nose
      powerful, very subtle smoke, spice, some alcoholic strength, light fruit note in the background
    • Taste
      clear spiciness, strong attack, dry sherry, with strong character, relatively strong for 14 years, light smoke in the background
    • Finish
      long finish ;
      warm aromatic fruity aftertaste

    Not exciting but not expensive for a 14 year old. Very good to drink. Classic malt from Diageo and therefore found in almost every whisky pub.

    Aroma: dry grain, milk caramel, vanilla, honey, overripe pear, soda "cream-soda", compost from autumn foliage, dry boards, plywood, phantom smoke from burning wood, then appears and goes away. The aroma is quite fresh, sea: mussels, menthol freshness, fabric softener, some minerals.

    Taste: spicy spices, malt sweetness, boiled condensed milk, slightly bitter citrus peel, wood, barely perceptible smoke, burning, dried ginger.

    Finish: spices, decaying sweetness, ginger, some kind of chemical note of drying oil, cellulose, medium length, delicate.

    Rating: 85

    Bottom line: another very good molt from the highlands from Diadzheo, very fresh, with coastal notes, such an average version of Scotch whisky, in which each of the regions is a little bit ... Fortress 43 does not spoil anything, I think the molt is as high as level as their own Kleelish 14 and Dalvini 15.

    For me a nice "all day whisky"
    • Nose
      82 82
      very little smoke, sweet, herbs, smelling of Voltarensalbe, refreshing, orange peel and grapefruit
    • Taste
      83 83
      very slightly peaty, a little bitter nevertheless sweet, again herbs
    • Finish
      80 80
      Weißweinnoten, quite short finish
