The first minutes are almost inedible with this young savage. With a little time, at least a whisky experience develops, but it doesn't really invite you to repeat it. Overall too immature, too unbalanced.

Cheese feet meet fermented fruits, plus some old cellars. Sounds a bit worse than it actually is, but unfortunately an apt description of this pale yellow young Aultmore. Somehow he manages to combine one bad note after the other, from nail polish remover and soapy water to vinegar, lavender bags and chive cheese. Long minutes of ventilation later, at least some of them thinned out. Freshly sliced apples, nectarines, bright grapes and a unfortunately still slightly woody melon, lemon jam, then vanilla bean and hazelnut ice cream come to light, as well as some pleasantly sweet resin, tea leaves, wax, daisies on a summer meadow and the firewood brought in from the damp shed . Somehow everything remains pretty brutal and immature.
    • Taste
      78 78
The taste surprises positively after this nosing. Spicy and concise, but not really unpleasant, fruit cake and vanilla, nectarine, grapefruit and hazelnut, tea, hay and arugula mix. Strong oak, but rather floury like sawdust and wet cardboard, is also not to be denied - in old bottlings maybe a part of the legendary Old Bottle Flavor, but here at most youthful recklessness.
    • Finish
      82 82
Malty dark beer, some vanilla, tobacco leaves, the woody melon, lemon jam with rind and a grapefruit then remain slightly acidic on the palate with a medium acidity.

A little too much refill and too young. However, it seems that a longer maturation didn't help either.
    • Nose
      81 81
First a light alcohol note, then alternating vanilla and fresh fruit compote from light fruits. Youth is easy to feel.
    • Taste
      80 80
Spicy than in the nose and clear bourbon notes come through.
    • Finish
      79 79
Still spicy and the bourbon remains short to medium in length.
