    A demanding but good 10 year old, for whom you definitely have to take your time.
    [Color gold;
    • Nose
      fruity, apricots, orange peel, slightly alcoholic;
    • Taste
      with a little water: very powerful start, sweet, heavy, fruity, reminiscent of a liqueur; also spicy peppery flavors; Caramel, nut, vanilla, very changeable (sweet-fruity-spicy);
    • Finish
      medium-long fruity aftertaste, peppery, then dry aftertaste!

    I like the bitter, but otherwise weird. The rubber-plastic note is not that great. Very artificial. A character malt, bourbon barrel I would say alcohol over 50%, age quite young I think, maximum 10 years, Highlands? Hmm, think Iceland more, guess that's a Ledaig, although I'm not sure about the smoke. Could be a Ballechin too. I'm really insecure.

    Notes created during blind tasting.
    • Nose
      light alcohol, boiled broccoli, a rubber-plastic note, smoke or is it just the barrel? Menthol-like citrus, light fermented fruits, mirabelle plums
    • Taste
      strong onset, bitter, very spicy and smoke? Fresh menthol, light fruit, some vanilla in the background
    • Finish
      the bitter remains for a long time and runs through everything, tannins slowly come forward and accompany the bitter, the mirabelles come again and again

    I like him. No grenade, but also no 75 points whisky;) I have to raise my score from 87 to 88. With a few drops of water, the Dalmore gains in complexity again.
    • Nose
      Vanilla, caramel, fruit salad of sweet and sour fruits, raisins, slightly nutty and a hint of chocolate. The alcohol is noticeable, but not disturbing, which disappears after the first sip.
    • Taste
      Sweet and strong, again fruit salad (this time with vanilla pod) and caramelized almonds. With a few drops of water and a little heat, it becomes creamier and sweeter. The interplay of sweetness and sharpness is fun.
    • Finish
      Ingenious exchange of blows, first sweet then chilli-spicy and finally a typical PX-note. With water is still a nice dark chocolate added.

    You can clearly tell him that he is still young. Although he is clearly recognizable as Dalmore right away, he still has clear corners and knights. Young and powerful. Alcohol in the nose is hardly through but is clearly palpable on the palate. The sherry influence is rather weak. With the addition of water, it disappears almost completely, so enjoy pure. Price performance is ok in my opinion. But you should not expect miracles. Who is on Dalmore will want him anyway. For all others there are alternatives to the price.
