On the nose, a sweet, creamy side on the light peat occurs!
Then, fruits (lemon, apple, and exotic fruits including pineapple!)
back cocoa and woody, with peat more iodized to the 2nd nose!
    • Nose
spice and fruity on candied lemon and subtle peat!
    • Taste
very spicy, peppery, then important woody return too!
it is only after the peat arive, stronger too, and the citrus fresher.
creamy vanilla and honeyed, a little vegetal.

The very pale colour is remarkable. Goes to show you that colour means nothing. This is superb. If shipping from UK wasn't prohibitive, I would have gotten a bottle for sure, maybe two.
    • Nose
Burnt dry leaves, smoke, yeast, bakery, over-toasted bread, chlorine/swimming pool. Very unique nose, and despite the slightly off-putting description, I am very much looking forward to its taste.
    • Taste
A superb combination of smoke and fruits (pear, yellow peach, guava, pineapple). A bit like one of those peaty 20-something year old undisclosed Bushmills that came out a couple of years ago, but this Bowmore has more smoke, and perhaps the fruits are not as obvious. Excellent, excellent!
    • Finish
Long, very good. No off-flavors at all.

Nose: sweet red apples mixed with coastal notes. Lemon candy. Golden raisiny touches too. Hints of seawater and wet fabric. Then back to light mango. The candied fruitiness works well alongside the muted smoke.
Mouth: coastal start, frankly salty, with light mezcal-like smoke but then the tropical fruits come rolling in. Beautiful mango and lychee, hints of sugared grapefruit. Pineapple cubes. Really lovely. Lots of ashes, charcoal and hints of tar to balance it, but the fruit shines.
Finish: long, smoky, peppery, with a lingering sweetness.Such a great tropical fruitiness in this Bowmore. Really lovely and perfectly drinkable at full strength too. Quite expensive but still recommended, exclusive to The Whisky Exchange.

A very good Bowmore with a nice mix of peat, brine and tropical fruits.
    • Nose
Peat smoke, coastal notes (seaweeds, brine), apples. Whiffs of lemons and hessians. Over time it develops some lightly tropical notes.
    • Taste
Brine and slightly ashy peat. Tropical fruits again with mangoes, pineapples and more. Pepper. More ashes. With water, creamy, more gentle.
    • Finish
      Long, smoky, peppery.

2001 Bowmore from the Bourbon Cask, you can buy almost blind. In this case, great success, smoke and fruit in a wonderful interplay. Like it!

unbelievable as it becomes a fruit bomb in the mouth with water

  8. thijs100 scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Yes please! Bowmore is right up my alley, and this release is no exception.
    • Nose
Quite coastal, but with a proper amount of lemon and cotton candy, as well as some apple juice and pear skin. There's a whisper of wet rocks, as well as a crips smokiness. A tad sweeter than I'm used to from refill bourbon matured Bowmore, but that's not a bad thing.
    • Taste
Creamy. A backbone of subtle Bowmore smokiness, a bit ash and a pinch of salt, accompanied by signature tropical fruits. Some passion fruit, as well as mango and grapefruit. It also has a spicy edge to it. Mainly white pepper, I'd say. Proper stuff.
    • Finish
The fruits linger for a while, together with some subtle peat smoke.

A rising star of the bowmore vintage! Expecting to see what’s these gonna be like 30 years later

Nose: bitter citrus, crushed stone, floral, Chinese green tea, green grass, melon vine, a little oily feel. I have to say that the alcohol feels very well suppressed, and no blemishes are found. The smell is very clean and resistant. smell.

Drink: The wine is strong, full of oil, and expressive in the mouth is very good, full of flowers, rich juices, herbs, the aroma is the same as the taste, but more excellent, the end rhyme cream, sour pear, very slight char Smoke, Huigan is very good.

Overall: I only tasted his peat smoke after I left the table after drinking. Before that moment, I forgot that I was drinking bowmore. Bowmore after 2000 has shown amazing transformation, is flawless, and has the strength to hit you. 90 marks!
