    Color gold

Quite closed in the nose. Sparkling with water, tickling the nose. Lemon, match heads, pepper, ginger, chilli. Wonderfully mineral. Sawdust, wood factory, dry fruit aromas, also floral. - Malt, cereals, iodine, parmesan (?), Pepper / chilies

Powerful on the palate. Planet Springbank, how beautiful are you! Malty sweetness that is also a bit bitter (hint of orange jam) Very straightforward with water, to the point. Dry and clear. But also pineapple, exotic fruit sweetness.

Pure long finish, warming, somewhat meaty, bitter-sweet.

Bottle was opened about 15 months ago. I have had a few drams each of the past few days. Level is down to 1/4 of the 750ml. When I opened this bottle 15 months ago it was my first ever Springbank. Since then I have picked up over 2 dozen of the varieties from the Distillery:)
    • Nose
Pineapple, lime zest, custard, ash tray
    • Taste
Chewy with a little heat, brief butterscotch then burnt toast
    • Finish
Long finish, slight spice, a drying butterscotch hard candy

Worth buying, worth trying. Chalks, orange and lemon peels, sweety peaty.

Springbank (Bourbon Barrel) Fanboys: Buy Now! A great thing! Everyone else: Stand up for the Springbank (Bourbon Barrel) fanboys!
    • Nose
Vanilla, sparkling citrus notes, extremely sweet nose, honey, orange marmalade, the mineral salt note is there but subtle with constant flashes, you can feel again and again the very subtle smoke, overall it reminds of the scent of peeling oranges, only that now Vanillekipferl lie next to it, water brings everything together
    • Taste
Here also vanillig sweet, then comes the freshly peeled orange, the alcohol carries the light smoke in the mouth, the malt has strength, but does not bite locally but spreads very well in the mouth, here too makes him water very round without his strength to destroy
    • Finish
Slight bitterness, orange peels, more mineral than before, beautiful warmth, an interplay of citrus notes and bitterness stick to the palate, with water here for the third time much rounder
