Exactly my style.
He starts with grassy herb notes. Light fruits mixed with fresh vegetables under damp hay. A delicate vanilla with blossom honey. I'll try to summarize: “In an old woodshed with an earthy floor, there is a box of freshly picked different apples on a damp bale of straw, lined with several tufts of grass. Very special nose. Spirit and barrel in harmony. Masterly.
With water a creamy and rich texture. Underlaid with light pepper and an extremely mouthwashing citrus fruit effect in a class of its own. A fabulous culinary experience. However, the complexity has its limits. Now the whole thing is also malty with sweet, salty spices. It makes an impression how well a Ben Nevis reacts in a bourbon barrel. A masterpiece. Now in the background comes the grapefruit with rich and pleasant oak notes. This grapefruit feeling brings back memories of the Teeling24 and dominates the transition.
Medium finish and thanks to the delicately bitter grape effect, it dries quickly and is not disruptive. All in all, it remains a special malt experience in the mouth and immediately demands more. Refilling is the order of the day. The quality of this bottling deserves an award. These are the good moments of reward with all the many other rehearsals that are so often just exhausting.
Thanks to the whisky world. Thanks to Ben Nevis.
