Big whisky, a flavor bomb. It's beautifully integrated at 61.3% ABV which is a bit sticking out of the nose. (Good choice for 1100th tasting.)

Nose: vanilla, wheat husk, crushed grain, a touch of citrus peel. I added a few drops of water and waited for a while, the butter cookies, waxy texture, and the yellow fruits in the BN gene began to release. Nothing related to Sherry was found, and the common problem of BN in this bottle is that the expressiveness and richness are very low, and there is an annoying Malty.

Drink: Very strong body, almost drove me away, still with water. Because smelling the fragrance did not find any sense of alcohol, it made me forget that it was 61.2%. I didn't have a lot of BN genes in my mouth, and there was a touch of juice and smoke, so I gave up.

Overall: This is the second time I have drunk this bottle. It's really not good.

At first I was overwhelmed after the opening.
After it was open for 5 weeks I tasted it again.
Milk chocolate, exotic fruits as usual at Ben Nevis and a very long finish.
The best Ben Nevis I've ever drunk

a bit alcoholic, slightly acidic with oak, a hint of fruit, has something that bothers me a little ... rice paste ?!
fiery, slightly burning and tingling, sweetish-tart, spicy, different wood tones, full and slightly oily.
warm, slightly spicy, soft, wood notes, hint of bitter, long finish with a hint of sherry and oak

    * a little water changes the appearance positively. Now slightly fruity and sweet with yellow fruits and slightly exotic fruit notes, wood aromas, idea vanilla.
Still with power, sweetish-tart, initially briefly fruity before the wood notes, spices and a hint of chocolate gain the upper hand. Complex, challenges a bit, invites you to experiment and tolerates the addition of water well.
Fruity and spicy with a hint of orange, slightly astringent on a tart and sweet finish. Long lingering, soft, slightly fruity, slightly tart, ending with a little sherry.

Tasted this dram at a Boogieman end-of-the-year tasting in Rijswijk, end november 2017.Hint of smoke, with mocca and a punch of alcohol. A bit disappointing so far. let's give it some time to breath and open.

well this helps a bit, and some mandarins / tangarines show up, including the pith.

With adding quite some water, it finally opens up and more fruits show itself

overall i am a bit disappointed with this dram, since i quite like Ben Nevis. It makes me wonder why they already bottled it, it could have had even more maturation, the alcohol content surely allows it.

I preferred it with a little water. Enthusiasm 3/5 without water 4/5 with water Whisky n ° 1621
    • Nose
Creamy, with notes of granny smith. It has like a dirty side a little dirty that dissipates quickly. Some exotic notes.
With water, the fruits take their rise. It is richer, more legible. Plums, bananas, peaches. More freshness, honey is here too. Soot? Then he calms down on toffee and citrus fruits.
    • Taste
Very spicy, hard at the level of alcohol anyway. Behind, a beautiful texture.
With water, it is thin and mineral. Very nice presence, anthology of spices.
    • Finish
Relatively short, not persistent. Some exotic fruits. With water, chalk fat.

Rates from a blind tasting. I guess a 22 year old Speyside dram (Clynelish?) with a refill Sherry finish and 54% alcohol. Very balanced and yummy dram. The little something is missing to bring it to 90+ points but besides that it is simply great. 89/90
    • Nose
raisins, toffee butter, honey, weathers' original
    • Taste
toffee butter, great sweetness, good balance
    • Finish
oaky, dry, decent bitterness but quite nice.

61.3% to drink as is. The final, too short, is the only real weak point of this whisky which offers a classic profile. Delectable.
    • Nose
Without even tilting the nose on the glass, the simple opening of the bottle and the service fill the room of our acrid and sulfurous. And for good reason, the nose is dominated by sulfur surrounded by passion fruit. A little rubber. It's dirty but it's good. It settles with aeration, sulfur and rubber tend to disappear to leave room for a nose frankly very fruity, always on the exotic fruits.
    • Taste
Well oily, with a nice power but the 61.3% pass smoothly, wonderfully integrated. Arrival on a very light sulfur and liquorice, development on peppered spices quickly seasoned with lemon before a greedy end of the passion fruit always slightly acidic. The sequence is perfect: the ardor of the spices is calmed by the arrival of the fruits and their greed to offer a nice overall balance to this dram. It's very good like that, but as there are still many horses under the hood, we will add a little water to see what it gives. It's less good. The spices almost disappear, the fruits, once greedy, have become bland: no it was not a good idea, the water ... Everything seems more linear, less complex: the profile does not change radically but loses in nervousness and it becomes soft knee.
    • Finish
Average, it's a shame, on the fruits of passion and some spice spice.
