  1. Jackson05 scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Nothing can be added that hasn’t already been said.

Fresh fruity (stone fruits) profile, with a viscous texure and Springbank flinty minerality. A classic.

I prefer it to the 15, 18, but better double check to be sure..

  2. ARDBERG scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

A bang for your buck - on the same level as the current Ben Nevis 10, Talisker 10, Benromach 10.

  3. Archer scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Very varied and exciting malt that combines fruitiness and spiciness - and that for under 40, -
    • Nose
The scent of a mountain meadow in spring, plus a fresh fruit salad of tangerines, oranges, pineapple and apples, drizzled with lemon - and then, first in the background, then more and more prominent, salt and pepper, nutmeg, curry spice, oak ... Salt water wetted and slowly drying in the sun pebbles. Fruity-fresh and salty at the same time.
    • Taste
Immediately are the flowers and the fruits from the nose on the tongue, inviting, tasty. Some lavender and a note that smells of fresh linen on a leash. But salt also comes on the tongue, pepper comes, other spices such as paprika and curry, and there is a nice interplay of sweetness and saltiness / spice. Again appearance of pebbles, mouthwash. Over time cocoa notes, nougat chocolate.
    • Finish
Medium-long, spicy, salty, fruity, with a hint of smoke.

This is again a substantial craft presetation. Everything is very well intermeshed, but not as obvious and not as emphasized as they did with the old label (batch, ...whatever).This one is very round, to round (kind of bad? No!), kind of not as springbankish as it used to be. I miss the Springbank farm layer.Concerning price/performance ratio: 9/10
    • Nose
Green apple, grass, lemon (also some oranges), salted fudge, some hints of "farming Springbank" smell is going on (not as much as in previous versions).
    • Taste
The farming smell/taste keeps on going, hints of smoke, lemon, sweet salt.
    • Finish
Medium. Oak, sweet smoke and hints of Springbank farm.
