With this straw-colored malt, the nose is by far the best. As with a few other whiskys, it stands out. Without this nose, the malt would be nothing special.

Delightful banana and nice smoky. In the beginning there is not much more to taste. There is little vanilla to taste for a first fill bourbon. There is also a metallic touch.

Nice sweet spicy. The seasoning can be defined with pepper and cinnamon. Fresh herbal tea. Full-bodied.
    • Finish
      85 85
Relatively long finish compared to the age. Chocolatey and slightly sparkling

Caol Ila 2011-17 1st Fill Bourbon Barrel

A particularly clean and fresh Caol Ila, blessed by the ideal level of peat to satisfy all lovers of Islay malts but at the same time without being overpowering or suited only to those palates which are accustomed to the most extreme smokiness. On the contrary, it allows the quality of the distillate to shine through with its subtle aromas. At the nose it is peaty and maritime, but delicate and showing crisp lemony and grassy aromas. The palate is surprisingly rounded, the smoke never dominating the notes of ripe lemons, the fragrant taste of white wine (some buttery Californian Chardonnay) and the soft malty sweetness in the background. Young and easy, medicinal and intense, but soft bodied, already quite mature and full of character.

Everything is quite consistent and tasty. Everyday and unobtrusive bar option. Good job. Maybe a little sweet to taste like me.

Soft peat, earthiness, dried mushrooms, bread, butter, oatmeal cookies, dry snacks, light smoked meat, malt, lemon with salt (in general, the flavor is significantly salty), skip sour cucumbers, crimson notes, non-spirus. Over time, ashes, farm notes, lemon cheesecake, raspberry branches, vanilla, marshmallows are added. A pleasant scent, though not quite expressive.
    • Taste
      84 84
Sweet, lemon, oily, delicious, peaty, caramel, ash and smoke, sweet aerated water, pristinoy (not enough degree).
    • Finish
      85 85
Sweet peaty, lemon, like caramel sweetened - very sweet, oak, knit a little, ashes (main), medium duration.

    Nice young Caol Ila.

Quite soft, light, peat, lemons, and some oak.
    • Taste
      85 85
Fresh, oily, lemony, vanilla, some oak.
    • Finish
      85 85
      Short, clean, medicinal

It must be allowed to stand for at least 30 minutes. The nose is very fair. The taste is light, citrus, with a peat body. Finish smoked, not long. Good goes under Hamon.
