Ido like my peated whisky and this is wonderful stuff. thanks to Peatbogger for the sample.
    • Nose
Obviously the peat smoke is dominant but there are subtle hints of fruit and tobacco. Also there seems to be metallic elements but not in a bad way. Deep in there, there is a really old varnished dark wood table.
    • Taste
I think the Balrog woke from his slumber deep within the depths of the Dwarven kingdom of Moria and spat in my glass, and i love it. Intense but at the same time subdued with those fruit flavours bursting through.
    • Finish
Because this coats the mouth nicely, it is long and dry but not too dry. Feels like i've just finished a fisherman's friend cough sweet.

I agree with KayMeertens, no more than 87 points. But the best BP so far, bacause the cask strength!?
    • Nose
Sweet peat, caramel, camphor, citruses, vanilla and fruits.
    • Taste
Strong, oily. Smoke, tar, heavily roasted coffee, peat, cocoa, pepper and oak.
    • Finish
      Long, sweet, spicy, smoky.

Cask strenght give this the power to carry more of the rich flavours. Tasty and powerful.
    • Nose
The peat is very "crispy" and clean.

Just tried the Norway edition which got a sweet&sour briney peat, this is rounder and apears more matured.

Some warm yellow fruit notes and a small hint of both vanilla and caramel.

Nothing extreme about it in any way, a nice and inviting nose.
    • Taste
      Quite thick and oily arrival.

Neat the spice is noticable, but still at a pleasant level.

Dark smoke, tar, gear lube, dark roast coffee beans.
    • Finish
A bit above medium lenght, coffee turning towards chocolate, sweet cereal note and mild spice linger the longest.

Nothing to fault here. Well-balanced and integrated, nicely blended. Not an in your face peat bomb, it has more to offer, although this will more than satisfy peat lovers.
    • Nose
Young and vibrant. Sweet malted barley, sauerkraut and smoldering campfire smoke. Plenty of vanilla too, as well as overripe banana. Nicely balanced.
    • Taste
Lots of brine, some tar, but also plenty of peat and thick smoke. Some mild spices, as well as mild notes of chocolate at the end there.
    • Finish
Peat, rye bread and subtle chocolate. Medium in length.

Eyes: Light gold and smell. Nose: Similar to the Mid-Autumn Festival. It should be packaged with a different taste. Palate: Peat is fresher and more obvious. Finish: Peat and cream. Body: Slightly slippery.

    Overall: 84/100

The smell is more inorganic than 2015, which is not harmful. However, I miss the fruity juiciness here, which shows a hint only in the reverberation. In the final summary, he wins the fous BP 2015, but the differences are not great.
    • Nose

Hospital, rubber (new shoes), peat and rotten fruit
    • Taste
      87 87
      Smoked meat, peat, spiciness
    • Finish

Fine smoke, peat, a little pepper and bitter lemon. Long. Not as dry as BP 2015
