    • Nose
Ha ben, for once, I find that what is written on the box just hits ... Because most of the time I feel a lot except (almost everything) what is announced. I'm right in the pears, but then marked with strength eh! Apples in the background and a touch of vanilla and caramel. Very fruity, very sweet. Typically Speyside. A nose that will appeal to those who appreciate it rather sweet, even to those who thought they did not like whisky.
    • Taste
Soft, fruity, very light. Again this is, I think, the right plan to introduce whisky to someone reluctant. Always a note of pears but we are mainly on cooked apples, not really an apple pie but we find biscuit notes. Grany style apple cookies. I really like.
    • Finish
A fairly short finish, but just as sweet and fruity, on pears with a touch of very pleasant ginger. I valid!

The nose leaves in fruity and floral directions. I feel pell-mell exotic fruits, custard with almond and a hint of rose and lavender.
After this beautiful introduction the mouth is a little ethical unfortunately ... The texture is watery. This malt is seriously lacking in size and power despite the wood structure that a little mouth.
The finish is very short on some almonds and tannins.
    Pretty little interest finally.

This whisky is part of a few samples of Glenburgie which I got. I guess at 40% abv this one might be the weakest. Nose is promising, but in the taste nothing really happens. No worries, one down 3 to go.

I would say a nice summer whisky. Nice, fruity and sweet. But do not expect too much of it.

While the nose is pretty pleasant, this struggles to reach 80 points in my book. Bit disappointing after a promising start.
    • Nose
Very light and somewhat tame, but fresh and fruity with a certain maturity. Hints of green apples, also milk chocolate, a touch of honey and vanilla custard. Getting sweeter over time.
    • Taste
Sweet to start, but also somewhat bitter and fairly spicy. The mouthfeel is pretty thin also. Sandalwood, tobacco. Not much left of the fruitiness.
    • Finish
Notes of saw dust, pepper and bitterness. Medium in length.

In my opinion, the most nuanced of the 3 expressions. It's also my favorite of the 3. The mouthfeel is a bit thinner than the others, but the nose and palate offer more. Not bad for only 40%ABV.
    • Nose
Nag-champa, caramel and mixed-fruits (peaches, raspberries, and dried papaya), light baking spices and honeysuckle, and a soft fade of toasted oak and earthy vanilla.
    • Taste
Toasted oak and barrel char, dried fruits and honeyed-malt, and soft cinnamon and cordial-soaked cherries.
    • Finish
Citrus peel and nectarines, soft oak tannins, and a softly fading floral fruit spirit.

  10. Corso_theRed scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

Inoffensive, sweet-fruity and honeyed. A highly modern type of whisky I reckon. Enjoyable nonetheless.
    • Nose
Blanched ripe apples, vanilla sugar, custard pie, banana bread, and a touch of coconut.
    • Taste
Toffee, apple compote, and orange liqueur. Sweet overall, with a tiny backdrop of oak tannins. Fresh-fruity undertones of caramelized honeydew and ripe pears.
    • Finish
Medium-short. Peach iced tea with artificial sweetener and Werther’s Originals.
