    • Nose
      Fine and fresh, with small notes of soot, it evokes Springbank but with more mineral accents. Chips of wood, a certain youth shows through with some yeast notes.
      With water, a little vanilla and wood.
    • Taste
      Fine and powerful, quite spicy.
      The water takes his side a little sharp.
    • Finish
      Biting with spices, but with a certain sweetness.
      With water, more clean, malty and mineral.

      Enthusiasm 3/5

    not the best Benromach, but still delicious. The smoke gives the postive nuance, otherwise relatively easy knitted. I really like the fruit here, though.
    • Nose
      very sweet, pear, fruity, vanilla, but also a hint of smoke, as it is typical for Benromach. The nose is not complex, but in sum somehow interesting and yet pleasing.
    • Taste
      warm, fruity, sweet, light smoke, a lot of fruit compote and relatively sugary. With water a little more peat, wet stone, less sweetness.
    • Finish
      sweet, light smoke, fruit, slightly mineral.

    You can smell a tiny bit of peatyness but also some mineral notes a bit like water from the tap or wet grass. After letting it sit in a glass for 10 minutes, and adding some water it starts to smell like a dry hay. The smell is sweet but not very strong at all. Sweet and salty with a medium length finish. Not oily, the alcohol bites you in the tongue. It's an interesting whisky which you have to get back to after some time in order to fully understand it.

    Without knowing the price I would rate that whisky higher.

    An intense, pleasing, good malt - not cheap, but still acceptable!
    [Color] white wine;
    • Nose
      buttery, sweet, honey, vanilla, fudge; the alcohol is very well integrated;
    • Taste
      powerful unfolding approach; creamy, soft, caramel, then powerful spice, oak;
    • Finish
      long, creamy, buttery, then dry oak;

    It takes some getting used to. At least it did for me, as I'm so fond of and familiar with Benromach's regular flavour profile. But after I did I could appreciate what they did here, as long as they also keep distilling that great Benromach 10 Years Old.
    • Nose
      This is more tropical than I'm used to from Benromach. Hints of pineapple for example, as well as some orange peel and lemon syrup. There's some pear skin too, but also a whisper of cardboard and mint. The Benromach smoke is still there, but very much muted. Somewhat waxy.
    • Taste
      Soft peat smoke, a touch of rubber (not very enticing), as well as cardboard and bitter lemon zest. Lacks the oiliness of regular double distilled Benromach, but is surprisingly waxy. Quite active spicy notes, mostly chili pepper.
    • Finish
      Lingering waxiness and fruitiness.

    Nothing I need again. He seems too young for me. And for the fact that he is distilled 3 times, brings the also neat sharpness. The smoke is even more subtle than, for example, the great 10s and 10s 100 ° proof.
    There are much more beautiful bottlings from Benromach.
    • Nose
      Smells fresh and frankly also relatively young. Lemon balm. Flower meadow with dew. Cooling menthol. Green apple. In addition, the subtle smoke of Benromach.
    • Taste
      Sweet malt. Canned pears. Sugared limes. Then comes a sharpness. Pepper. In addition, grapefruit. Then the smoke.
    • Finish
      Citrus fruits remain for a while. The oak makes the whole thing drier.
