Conclusion: simple and completely faceless whisky. Another silence with no indication of age, of which there will be no memories.
    Rating: 77 (n20, t19, f18, b20)
    • Nose
Aroma: uncomplicated, malty, with citrus sourness and grape note.
    • Taste
Taste: slightly harsh, with hints of stale bread, lemon and dry wine.
    • Finish
Finish: short, with the obsessive influence of malt, with almost imperceptible wine sweetness and a hint of spice.

When they selected these casks, what were they tasting and thinking to bottle it?
I can't remember having a whisky that nosedived so dramtically from nose to finish. This was a sample courtesy of a neighbour.

Lots of vanilla and May tree flowers. Elderberry flowers as well. Cream soda and banana. Also getting glazed cherries and peach yogurt. This is quite a nice nose and smells are just rolling off which is a good sign.

Wow! I didn't expect that, it's like I've just switched to a completely different whisky. First thing is it's dry, bitter and astringent and this just masks everything else. You are just waiting for something to fight it's way through but to no avail. That's all you get I'm afraid. Dull as dish water.

The finish, well there isn't one, it's just an alcohol taste.

    Thanks for the sample Sandman
    • Nose
Quite a lot going on here, red wine, lychees, honey, lime and some more traditional Glenfiddich notes such as vanilla and pear.
with some air to breath, some strawberries with chocolate show themselves.
    • Taste
a bit malty, sugared biscuits, with more white wine on the taste than red wine, funny. A hint of white pepper is present as well.
    • Finish
Medium long, a bit bitter-dry with quite some woodnotes.

Quite young and immature. Nose is pretty good. But falls apart on the palate. Slight bitterness in the finish

I always get banana when I smell and taste this. Less interesting to me compared to the 15 Solera vat.
