My first ever bourbon distillery visit! It’s a nice small craft distillery with a rich, intriguing and violent family history which completely fits in the time frame during the prohibition and way of life in Kentucky.

This craft distillery starts the tour with that intriguing family story, after which you will be guided through the distillery. On the way you get to taste their fermenting wash and white dog, as they call their new make spirit. It’s really interesting to learn about their unique way of producing all kinds of spirits.

For such a small craft distillery (they produce about 2 barrels a day) they have a lot of different expressions. Also they do several experiments which can be found in the shop as well when it turned out to be good.

In the final tasting you get 8 cups which you can turn in for several drams. But don’t worry, when your out of cups, you’ll still get more of their products :)

Much of the old moonshine equipment has been saved and several family history artifacts are as well. The whole is decorated very hillbilly style. If your in the hood, I would definitely recommend a visit.
