In its quarter of a century (mid~1820s to around ~1850), Burke's Distillery on Quay Street was a successful Company in Galway.

Also known as "The Quay Street Distillery" or "Quarter Barrel Distillery", it was a converted mill on the banks of the river Corrib near Nun's Island and had two massive chimneys that were important landmarks of the city.

Exactly when Burke's closed is uncertain, but it is possible probably shot its doors around 1850.
