Sall Whisky Distillery
We are a group of friends who have embarked on an adventure together. We want to create a completely local whiskey, where we use our own home-grown and organic cereals. So we are in the process of establishing a completely new Nordic whiskey distillery. We dedicate ourselves 100% to our own local ingredients. Those we sow and harvest right here, a few miles from our distillery, which we are building.
What's the problem? Since the industrial revolution, we have seen how the malt barley grown in Denmark has been sent abroad to be malted in giant malt factories. Furthermore, the building is malted with barley from many different countries in huge lots, which completely destroys the individual character and unique qualities of the various fields.
We want to change that. We will make a whiskey and use grain from one and the same field. A field that Lars, the farmer in the group, has taken care of. How does the grain of this field taste when it has been malted, mashed, distilled and matured on the finest dishes? We need to find out and we will love if you want to follow our journey.
