The distillery could handle quite a few visitors, but because of the remote location (still about an hours outside of Kagoshima by car) they only get about 20 visitors a day.
Very nice to visit though: dedicated museum, which very large column stills, the old president's house has been converted partially to a shop, with bar and partially as a museum. The little garden is well maintained as well.
Now for the distillery itself: excellent also. You can see the complete proces for start to finish! Nothing to be desired. Highly recommended.
