A lovely little distillery, based in an old farm/mill, with a long history and tradition of distilling, as there's a family heritage of jenever distilling dating back to the 17th century. Some props from those old times are displayed during the tour, alongside replica's (as a lot of the original material was auctioned in the early 20th century after the original jenever distillery closed). So you pick up some history alongside an informational, albeit standard guided tour. There's no malting done at the distillery, nor is there at the brewery owned by the same family some 8km away in Mechelen, so the highlight is pretty much the distilling room with its 2 copper potstills from Forsyths. Maturation also takes place at the brewery (due to lack of room at the distillery), so you're prettig much done in some 50 minutes... Exit through the gift shop :)
Very nice tour. If you go during the week you may get a private one like I had (not a lot of people going then)! Nice people with enough knowledge about whisky. Definitely going back... during the week!
