The Diana Restaurant and lookout tower is one of the most famous and most visited locations in Karlovy Vary. Every year we welcome 200,000 guests.
The written history of this excursion place dates back to 1804. The funicular, lookout tower and restaurant were built here prior to World War I. Diana’s prominent guests in the past included Goethe, Körner and Freud. Diana’s current importance to Karlovy Vary is documented by the visit of the presidents of four European countries, the so-called “Visegrád Four”, who met here in 2010.
The restaurant and lookout tower are located in the beautiful surroundings of the spa town forests and promenade routes to Jelení skok (Deer Jump), Findlaterův obelisk (Findlater’s Obelisk) and Vřídlo (Hot Spring) start here. The maintained trails also attract cyclists.
The Diana complex includes a mini zoo, summer terrace, fast refreshment and souvenir stand, car park (cars are only allowed to enter with a permit).
Funicular departure directly from the colonnade, the most famous Karlovy Vary lookout tower, a stylish restaurant with a 100-year tradition, and the tranquil surroundings of the spa town forests make the Diana Restaurant an attractive location for family trips, weddings, corporate events, and organised visits by clients from travel offices and agencies.
The funicular arrives here every 15 minutes, namely from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm (May to September), from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (April and October) and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (November to March). The Diana Restaurant opens year-round at 11:00 am and is regularly open according to the timetable of the funicular.
