Had a meal at the Copper Dog last night which was really nice, stayed the night at the hotel and the  room was good.

Spent 3 hours in Quaich bar upstairs and had a cross section of whiskies and some nice chat, Angus the new bartender was good value and really knows his stuff, which for me is a real bonus.

Vey enjoyable evening, great bar, lovely setting and atmosphere, I could have stopped a few more hours no problem.

The Hotel whisky bar (different to the Copper Dog bar downstairs) has changed considerably compared to the pictures currently on here and now looks much better and is also bigger (not that the old one looked bad in any way).

Excellent selection, varied price range, good knowledge by bar tender. I thought it was that good I booked a night there to enjoy the bar more, roll on Tuesday.

Well worth a visit just for the ambience of the place but an interested and knowledgeable bartender will make a difference for sure. The young guy on today was really good and a collector himself.

Had 2 great dinners at the Copper Dog, twice a good price/quality ratio imho.

Went to The Quaich once. Quite an extensive collection. A bit pricy though, yet not all is expensive.

The barman was very kind and honest. Did not pretend to know everything about every single whisky.

Had a good time there.

The Quaich Bar is a bit too formal to my liking. There's no doubt they've lots of whiskies to choose from, but all the interesting ones (the more rare OB's or IB's) are way too expensive. On the night I was there the bartender was pretty uninspired.
