The Hebridean Whisky Trail
In cooperation with the ferry company Caledonian MacBaryne the distilleries Talisker, Torabhaig, Raasay and Harris launched the Hebridean Whiskey Trail.
Whiskey fans are invited to visit the islands of Skye, Raasay and Harris on a small tour and to visit the four whiskey distilleries. This is not about a kind of package tourism, because no ready travel arrangements are offered.
As with the Malt Whiskey Trail in the Speyside, anyone interested can plan their own route. The official starting signal was given on August 15, 2018 at an event in the Raasay Distillery.
Calmac Ferries offers a flexible Hopscotch ticket, valid for 31 days from the date of the first journey, which can be used in either direction along the chosen route.
The current 115-mile Whisky Trail route connects:
1. Torabhaig Distillery (IV44 8RE Teangue, Isle of Skye)
2. Raasay Distillery (IV40 8PB Borodale House, Isle of Raasay)
3. Talisker Distillery (IV47 8SR Carbost, Isle of Skye)
4. Isle of Harris Distillery (HS3 3DJ Tarbert, Isle of Harris)
