Overall, a very well-rounded and fine drop with great fruit components. Reminds me a bit of sugared fruit salad. Simply harmonious and the flavors of old dusty books round everything off well. I would still like to see it with more alcohol. There is more to it here. Good stuff and worth the money. Overall, it also seems very old-school... a whisky from days gone by... which is understandable given that it was distilled around 1981.
    • Nose
      88 88
sweet, fruity light sherry notes (dried figs, also sweet and slightly sour notes of ripe nectarines/peaches, apple and sweet cherries, light grapes, even some tropical pineapple), vanilla, caramel, light varnish aromas, rather subtle oak notes in the background, somewhat floral
    • Taste
      88 88
not as sweet as in the smell, light sherry fruitiness (nekatrine, light grapes, some apple, sweet cherries), dusty books, clear spicy oak, honey, slightly oily, some ginger, slightly bitter nut notes, some vanilla
    • Finish
      87 87
medium-long, sweet, fine fruity sherry aromas (dried fig, dark grapes, some cherry), fine slightly tart and spicy oak notes, light roasted aromas, nutty
